Secure Options for Sharing Your Tax Documents This Season

As another tax season begins, it’s the perfect time to review the secure tools available for sharing your documents with our team at Gibbons & Associates CPA. Our goal is to make the process smooth, efficient, and fully protected, and we use several trusted platforms to help you submit your information safely.

Intuit Link

Intuit Link is our primary system for gathering documents related to individual tax returns. It includes a customized annual questionnaire to help ensure you provide all essential tax information, along with a guided process for uploading the documents you received during the year.

You can expect an Intuit Link invitation within the next week or two. The email will come from Gibbons & Associates CPAs LC ( link@intuit.com ) and will be sent only to the primary taxpayer listed on the return. Due to system limitations, only one invitation can be issued per return. However, once the primary taxpayer logs in, either spouse may use the same login to upload documents and complete the questionnaire.

SmartVault

SmartVault functions as the secure portal where your completed tax returns are stored each year. While it may also be used to upload and share documents, it is primarily intended for long‑term storage and is also the platform used for business tax return document exchange. For individual tax filings, SmartVault serves as a secondary option behind Intuit Link.

ShareFile

ShareFile is used only for specialized or one‑off requests. It provides secure upload capabilities when an alternative method is needed, but it is not part of our standard tax document workflow.

Each of these platforms uses encrypted, secure transmission to protect your information and keep the tax preparation process as streamlined as possible.
